Never apologize for being sensitive or emotional

Never apologize for being sensitive or emotional

I hug and tell my 4 boys I love them I don’t know how quite often but it’s a lot. I love “hugs”, the scientists say it releases a “good” chemical in the brain, can’t remember it just at this min, but it works! However not everybody likes to be hugged? I would like to hug my best friends however I’m half afraid of what they might think? Anyway “forget it” your so right “hugs are good for the mind and body!” If you know a friend that is hurting give them a big hug “tightly”. ~ Martina Kenna

It is very important to express all of your emotions. It’s the stuff we keep bottled up inside that eats away at us and makes us ill. Being open about your emotions shows great strength and bravery, and when it is appropriate, it is extremely healthy. If showing your emotions is dysfunctional (makes others so uncomfortable that they don’t want to be around you, impedes your ability to earn a living, etc), then it is a problem. Otherwise sensitivity, empathy, sympathy, affection, tears, and concern to others and acknowledging your own tender emotions is a sign of strength, not a sign of weakness. Your showing courage to be yourself! Those who don’t show emotions are usually uncomfortable with their feelings and the feelings of others. They also have a difficult time getting close to people. Being comfortable with your feelings leads to a very rewarding relationships if you are with emotionally available people as well.

I feel we shouldn’t hesitate to show our genuine emotions. Being true to ourselves and following our heart is the best gift we can give to our soul. Simplicity has its own charm and being natural is being simple. Being sensitive or emotional is to witness the world through the eyes of gentleness and compassion. It is a blessing with a sprinkling of love all over it. ~ Abhinav Guha
